Bruichladdich 1984/32 Rare Cask Series – Bourbon: All In bruichladdich-rare-cask-series
Adam Hannett, who rejects the advent of modern technology and homogenization, Bruichladdich Head Distiller, only takes into account manufacturing techniques that prioritize liquid quality. Diversity begins on the field. The key is provenance. They think it’s crucial to consider how people, land, soil, and climate interact. They cherish their connections with farmers, reestablishing the lost cycle of land and spirit between farmers and distillers.
Of all the distilleries in Scotland, the contemporary Bruichladdich Distillery is renowned for being the most inventive and daring. Through their inventive series and releases, they turn the craft into an artistic mix of the ancient and the modern.
Three extremely old whiskies from 1984, 1985, and 1986 are part of the Bruichladdich “The Last of their kind” series. “These old, rare single malts are a direct link to our past, to the men who made truly special spirit here under very different circumstances than those which we enjoy today,” adds Adam. Unaware of what the future could hold, it was left to mature by the shores of Loch Indaal as a testament to their talent and diligence.
This 1984: “All In” expression is drawn from the last 12 casks of classic Bourbon-aged Bruichladdich, a style Adam considers to be: “the ultimate expression of our spirit. The fruit, the little saline flavor, the characteristic elegance is all there with layer upon layer of vanilla/butterscotch complexity.” The unpeated vintage is aged for 32 years and is a restricted release of 3,000 bottles.

Notes on Tasting
There are flavors of coconut, warm muscovado sugar, vanilla custard, grapefruit, mango, baked ginger biscuits, and marzipan on the nose of this classic old school Bruichladdich. This gives way to sultana and date syrup notes. With hints of crème brulee, buttercup, and orange zest, the palate is delicate and gradually warmed up before moving into toasted wood and praline. Mango and sweet citrus emerge later. Warm scones, dried fruit, candied orange, lemon peel, and apricot jam provide a mild finish.
Concerning Scotch
The most widely consumed whisky worldwide, Scotch is regarded as the best of all of them! Each of Scotland’s five whiskey regions—or six if you include the unofficially recognized Islands—produces spirits with special qualities and distinctive flavors. (The type of scotch is determined by the type of grain used.)
Grain whisky employs other grains, such as corn or wheat, while malt whisky is manufactured from malted barley. A single distillery producing a single malt whisky produces an exceptional product known as a single malt, but most whiskies are blended from various distilleries, hence the term blended bruichladdich scotch whiskey.
