Blanton’s Single Barrel Black Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
In the same part of Warehouse H where Blanton’s Private Reserve was aged more than half a century ago, Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is aged today. Specifically crafted for the Japanese market, the Black Label Bourbon expression is derived from the high-rye Buffalo Trace mash bill, which consists of corn, rye, and malted barley. Before being bottled at 80 proof, it was aged for 8 years in fresh American oak that had been burned.

Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon Notes on Tasting
On the nose, notes of caramel, vanilla, apple, cherry, black sugar, and lots of oak are evident. On the palate, there’s fruit and vanilla with hints of wood and a nice sweetness all throughout. The medium finish has a lingering vanilla flavor and is smooth and well-rounded.
Concerning Blanton’s
Albert Bacon Blanton was born in the winter of 1881 on a farm not far from Frankfort, Kentucky. Blanton started as an office boy at the Old Fire Copper Distillery, also known as O.F.C. Distillery, when he was sixteen years old. Blanton apparently worked in every section of the distillery during the ensuing years. He began working as O.F.C.’s superintendent at the age of 20, and he remained there until his retirement in 1952.
Blanton was a classic bourbon aristocrat who was committed to producing Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, much like his master E.H. Taylor. At his distillery, Blanton would personally pick barrels to bottle for his personal reserve from a specific portion of Warehouse H, which he felt was the greatest for aging bourbon.
